Hidden Fortress

Kink Space

Close

KINK is a beautiful historic building and part of the Pfefferberg industrial monument. Thanks to its elevated location and garden with centuries-old trees, it offers a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. The premises impress with ceilings up to eight meters high and floor-to-ceiling French doors, exuding the charm of an industrial loft.

In 2020, a new bar was installed for the KINK Bar/Restaurant. We have now been commissioned to design the expanded dining and bar area. This versatile space is perfect for various events such as bar shifts, corporate events, private parties, weddings, workshops, and more.

Our goal was to create an atmosphere that provides a high level of comfort while being a subtle yet stylish companion to any event. The architecture and interior design are characterized by minimalist and brutalist elements, placed next to each other with the more playful, historic architecture of the industrial monument.

Technical surfaces and materials, a monochromatic color palette, clean lines, and simple geometric shapes were combined with tactile, natural materials to create a subtly sensual spatial experience.

The counter can be used for various situations. The removal of solid wooden elements turns it into a bar workstation. When closed, it can be used as a table for a buffet or similar.

A newly created transition from the KINK Space to the Bar/Restaurant area, in the form of a large steel and glass door, provides a visual and functional connection between the two areas.

The upper oculus section of the glass door features a custom artwork by Paul Hance, made of hand-blown glass and agate stones, adding a unique artistic touch to the space.
