Hidden Fortress

Apartment Rui

Close

An apartment shaped by light and bespoke details.

The apartment is located on the upper floors of a newly built residential building in the centre of Berlin. It has wonderfully large windows that provide the entire rooms with sufficient light even on dark days. Natural light was therefore also one of the main protagonists in the design of this flat. The interplay of natural light, clear and partly minimalist shapes and the naturally soft structures of the surfaces creates a very special and harmonious feel-good atmosphere.

The open kitchen area was to become a central element of the living space, so the original system kitchen was completely reworked and upgraded with custom-made wooden elements and a natural stone top.

The furniture specially designed for this space combines high functionality with a pronounced object-like quality. This preserves the airy character of the apartment, even in the relatively small rooms. The striking contrast between clean, minimalist forms and warm, natural materials creates an exceptionally inviting and cozy atmosphere.
