Crafted from solid, regionally sourced Douglas fir, this bench explores balance in both structure and expression. The generously dimensioned seat rests on two plane supports, appearing almost weightless, as if gently placed rather than fixed. Its stance is grounded, yet its presence is light.

There are no visible reinforcements, no expressive gestures. Instead, the strength lies in proportion, grain, and the honesty of the joinery. What appears effortless is the result of careful calibration.

Each piece is made in Grafenbrück by woodworker Majo Ertel, using traditional techniques and a contemporary eye for material. Over time, the Douglas fir will deepen in tone, revealing the traces of use and sunlight and the quiet clarity of its construction.
